Pixort v1.5.5 is released
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a few crashbugs
- Fixed problem with sort

Enhancements:
- Analyzing photos only when
the user wants to sort photos. This results in a faster startup.
- Reads only exif rather

I have received a few bug reports
and fixed them. Pixort v1.4 beta 2 is now available, and it should be
very stable and usable for everyday work.
Bugfixes:
- Made destination folder
dialog modal
- Fixed a crash that occurred
when the source folder was deleted or source memory card was removed
- Fixed a bug that made some
directories in the source browser non-selectable

New year, new version. The
1.4 branch has been feature frozen (no more features will be added), and
I will now only focus on fixing bugs and usability flaws. The new development
version is therefore named 1.4 beta 1. Keep those bug reports coming!
Enhancements:
- Added an "open in
external editor" button on the review bar on each photo. The path
and
parameters can be set in the "application settings" dialog.
Now you can open the photos in
photoshop directly from Pixort!
- Faster startup. Also added
a splash screen with startup status information for impatient souls
- Added a refresh button
below the source browser that refreshes the (guess what) source browser
- Faster fullscreen toggling
with overexposure warning turned on
- Added an information window
at startup telling the user that Pixort is checking for new versions
(this is only shown once)
- Minor changes in the installer
- If the Scan button is clicked
in the midst of sorting, a confirmation dialog will be shown. No
more accidental clicks on the scan button!
- The source folder history
box is editable. You can enter the path manually here
Bugfixes:
- Changed the way the pdf
manual is opened from within Pixort. Hopefully this solves the problems
that some of you have had. Let me know if the problem still persists.
Note that Acrobat Reader
must be installed.
- Fixed a multiselection
bug that occured when view filter was enabled in thumbnail view
- Fixed a bug that caused
file copy/move failure if several subfolders had to be created

We couldn't enter the new year
before getting a new version, could we? Pixort v1.4 alpha 3 contains the
following goodies:
Enhancements:
- Statistics shown in the
status bar: number of photos and number of photos assigned each tag
- The tag name is shown on
tagged photos instead of only the tag number
- Filter button in the thumbnail
view: view only photos with a given tag
Bugfixes
- Fixed a bug where Pixort
checked for new versions even if it was disabled
- Pixort is not asking whether
it should open an old project if it's started by right-clicking a
folder

Pixort v1.4 alpha 2 was released!
We got a new baby in october, so Pixort development hasn't progressed
with the same pace as before the last month. But here is the new version!
Enhancements:
- Pixort is remembering zoom
and exposure warning on/off
- Pixort is remembering project/application/thumbnail
dialog positions and visibility
- Pixort is remembering the
retracted status of the review/histogram/metadata bars
- Pixort is storing the project's
loaded photos and tags if quitting while sorting. You can now
start sorting, quit, eat dinner, reboot, start Pixort and continue where
you left off!

cr2+jpeg files

Pixort v1.4 alpha 1 was released!
Pixort v1.4 will be a rework of some of the graphical user interface.
Based on own experience and users' feedback, I am doing general improvements
in Pixort's workflow and usability.
Enhancements:
- Brand new source browser,
integrated in the project settings dialog. Highlights are:
- Browse the desired
directory within Pixort without opening a new dialog
- Drag'n'drop folders
from Windows' file explorer to Pixort's source browser.
- Open folders in the
source browser by right-clicking it and selecting "open in
Windows.
- Improved history pulldown
menu that resizes correctly
- Explorer extension with
"Pixort here" menu item when right-clicking folders in Windows
- Brand new destination management.
You can define default destination folders with either
absolute path or relative to the source root directory. You can also
choose to override those
default folders within each project.

It's been a few weeks since
the last beta, but the summer heat finally caught us by surprise! That
means more outdoors activities and less development. Now the summer seems
to over, and that means more development... so now v1.2 beta 3 is released!
New since last beta is:
Enhancements:
- Metadata is parsed in raw
(there are still problems with Minolta raw)
- Overall raw conversion
is FAR quicker with the "quick interpolation" option, which
does a faster
interpolation of the colors, while still being more than good enough
for reviewing
- Using half-resolution conversion
for viewing NEF, .ORF and .MRW images, as there is no embedded jpeg.
The full-size version can be shown by toggling the "raw resolution"
button (see below)
- Added an "empty raw
cache" button in "data handling"
- Using the standard Windows
folder dialog for directory browsing
- Removed the "convert"
button and made a "show lowres/embedded" and "show hightres/converted"
button to switch between quickloaded raw photo and full resolution converted
raw photo
Bugfixes
- Fixed white balance issue
in RAW
- Fixed a memory issue in
batch conversion (all photos in the batch were stored in memory)

was released! Although those bugs rarely occured, I want to make sure
that they arefixed before releasing 1.1.
Bugfixes:
- Fixed one bug that may
have caused crashes
- Fixed a crash that occured
on certain corrupted jpeg files
- Sometimes the "executing
tasklist" dialog didn't go away after the tasklist was finished.
This is now fixed.
- The rank on tagged photos
was hidden behind the histogram. It is now moved leftwards

Just a minor bugfix this time:

Version 1.1 feature freeze
- and Pixort v1.1 beta 1 was released! After a development period with
alpha releases with new features, I have frozen the feature set. I will
now only correct bugs in version 1.1, and new betas will be released as
bugs are fixed. When the beta is considered bug-free, version v1.1 will
be released. I will then start developing v1.2 alpha (and so the saga
continues...)

Enter zoom mode by clicking the zoom button (magnifier) or pressing
and holding ctrl. Zoom by clicking left mouse button on the photo and
